Stablecoins are boring, and that is exactly why they keep showing up in the most real adoption conversations. When crypto works best, it stops asking people to learn new behaviors and starts plugging into the ones they already have, get paid, save, spend, send, repeat. That was the throughline this week. MegaETH shipped mainnet, but the real question was not speed, it was whether a killer app shows up that makes people return daily. Creator pay and creator cards kept pointing at the same incentive problem, reward quality or reward farming. And the consumer wedge kept looking more obvious, stables that earn, a card that spends, and credit that feels simple. Even the chaotic stuff fits the same lens. A launch can be wild and still be honest if the rules are explicit and the user knows what game they are playing.

What would most convince you to try a crypto card?
This week on Coffee with Captain
Bitcoin pullback - majors slid with BTC back to 69k and ETH 2K, but the more useful signal was who held up
MegaETH mainnet - a quiet mainnet launch for MegaETH without a flagship app people actually return to
AI agents and standards - agents need money rails, identity and discovery layers if they are going to scale safely
Death Star launch mechanics - intentionally chaotic, with targets evolving through token locked voting
Stablecoin payroll gets real - when payroll and business cashflows move onto stable rails, adoption becomes default behavior
Consumer rails are the wedge - the “stables plus card plus credit” bundle keeps looking like the path to normal use
Creator pay is incentive design - the real question is whether rewards improve content or scale farming
